More shopping!

We did a little shopping today. We had some errands to do and ended up at Wal-mart. We of course got a few movies for the kids and ended up looking at TV’s. They really need new ones. But now we have a problem because we have a tv stand that is a corner wooden thing mounted to the wall. This is no longer needed for the LCD TV’s and we instead need a bracket mount. My thought it to mount them on top of the wooden stand so we can use the wooden stand for the DVD player or whatever… It’s such a mess. I wish I would have thought about all of this YEARS ago when we did these mounts. UGH!

Insurance?

I think that health insurance in America has gotten crazy! We need to re-evaluate all of our insurance in this house. I will be spending some time next week calling for insurance quotes for various things. It is something that has to be taken care of. It’s gotten out of hand the amount of money that goes out of this house paying premiums and we never use the service. I am GLAD we never use it, but I just feel we should and could pay less. I am sure everyone has this same rant when it comes to insurance!

Auto Insurance – UGH!

It’s time for me to look for new auto insurance. I need to get an auto insurance quote from several places because my insurance company just raised my rates. I am not happy about this because there have been no chances to neither my husband’s or my driving record to warrant an increase. We’ve been insured with them for over 8 years and never lapsed. I am just dealing with the increases here and there as they feel necessary. Anyone have any suggestions?

Brrr! It's Cold Baby!

I love the snow, how pretty it is, but I really hate the COLD temperatures that come with the snow. I dislike winter for that reason. I just wish we could have the fluffy pretty white stuff without the cold! I recently got a Snuggie and a new electric blanket. I am hoping that this gets me through the winter and the cold spell. I can handle the 20 degrees (FAHRENHEIT) but the negative 20 degrees (FAHRENHEIT) I can’t do!! It’s just too cold!! I’m ready for SUMMER!!!

It's almost that Time!

It’s starting to be that time here. FALL! I love the fall colors. I love back to school. I look forward to it. I hate the yard work that comes with fall though. We’ve already started to take the cushions off the patio chairs and move them inside, I also like the swing to be taken apart and moved inside. It keeps the stuff lasting nicer longer. The amount of money you pay for it, you want it to last. We have done what I think is the final lawn mow of the year, it seems like the grass is pretty dead now. Soon it will be snow and I will be SO ready for summer. I dread the snow, I really do. I wish there was SOME way to convince all of my cousins and family and friends to relocate to a non-snowing place!! I despise the snow! UGH!

Directory Assistance

You know how useful directory assistance used to be? The directory list of phone numbers to anyone and everything you could ever imagine? I so wish there was one for cell phones!! I know some people are rolling their eyes at that, but right about now I can’t help but think, there are so few people with home phones. Everyone has cell phones. Sometimes I need someones number and I have to call this person, who says call this person, just to get a number… it would be SOOOO much easier to call 411!! *end of rant*

It’s the annoying sound from the barcode scanner as you checkout at the grocery store, retail store, etc. The sound that happens right before all your waves good bye out of your wallet and into that drawer of death for you to never see again. I swear, the cost of everything is rising these days and the job market is crashing. How are we to survive? Oh sorry… Just me off on a random tangent thought!

Fad Diets

I know it’s close to being summer and you have magazines all over the place with pictures of celebs in their bathing suits PLASTERED everywhere, but I just don’t get it. What is with all the fad diets? What is with all the Apidexin and diet pills? I just don’t see the ryhme or reason. What happened to the days when people WORKED OUT? Seriously? Isn’t that what is healthiest for us anyway? I mean do these things really work and is this the reason we’ve lowered our life expectancy these days to the love 60′s and 70′s. I don’t get it.

I am wishing for the end of winter right now. It has been so cold here and I am just literally so sick of the snow that I could PUKE! I can’t believe it. Everyone has been sick. It’s not fun. I had to get some more sweaters yesterday. I don’t even have enough to make it through the week. I’ve had this terrible cold spell lately. So I got some super warm sweaters. Of course I headed to my favorite store, Kohl’s, they had good deals on pants, sweaters, silk ties, and so much more. They are getting rid of all the extra stuff from Christmas. So I scored deals and some stuff up to 80% off.

I’ve got to get in touch with Sprint, my cell phone provider on Monday. I have had the WORST customer service over the past 2 weeks and I am so upset that I want to terminate my service with them. I can’t even DEAL with it anymore. I am just shy of contacting the CEO of Sprint. I would be interested in hearing if anyone has actually gotten anywhere by contacting them. It’s so flustrating. UGH! I will keep you posted. Okay… I’m off for the night… Time for me to have a snack and head to bed!!!

Did you ever feel like you were spinning in a whirlpool? I swear… my life has had so many speed bump, I am RUNNING looking for that smooth road, just a few miles on it… Hell, just a LOOK at it and I’d be happy. The truth is the speed bumps have made me who I am today, but dammit, why can’t I get a PEEK at the easy road… JUST a PEEK?!?! Is that really so much to ask? Everyday is something.

Last night I headed to the gym at 5:30pm. I came home around 6:30pm with hubby and the kids. My hubby informed me the refrigerator was no longer working.Â NICE! It wasn’t running and things inside it were starting to “sweat”. Lovely. He pulls it out to see if it’s unplugged or if we can see something. Nothing there. He goes downstairs to trip the breaker… Nothing… So he pulls it out more, it starts running. Weird. Pushes it back to were it should be, and it cuts out again with a CLUNK noise. So he pulls it back out to see what the heck is going on. It starts running again. Okay, this is annoying. It can’t stay in the middle of the kitchen floor. So he pushes it back slowly slowly waiting for it to click out. All of a sudden sparks start shooting out the back. DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!! I scream. “Get that fucking thing out of my house NOW!” He unplugs it. Grabs the electrical fire extinguisher and sprays the back… He calls his mom. She was not sure but said come get me and we will go to Home Depot. We need a refrigerator. We can’t not have one. I think she didn’t realize how bad it was. So we go to Home Depot. The man says “Sorry, we don’t stock any of the refrigerators.” Oh my goodness are you kidding me?!?!? He says it will be next Tuesday before we can get one. We can not get one elsewhere because we can’t get a high enough credit limit on a card and we don’t have the cash right now… so we are stuck… I say to him… “Can we buy a floor model? We need one tonight.” Seriously… who else goes to Home Depot a 1/2 hour before they close in a frenzy for a refrigerator!?!? He agrees. So we pick one out. It’s been the display for less then 4 months. Good deal. 1 year warranty and we can add 4 more years to that for $100. Good!! Good it. I call my cousin to come meet us with a truck to bring it home.Â After an hour of trying to get it in the house, it’s in. My mother in law is here and sees the other one… She says “You are damn lucky that sucker didn’t burn the house down. I didn’t know it was THAT bad.” Oh nice… thanks… scare me some more…

So the new one is in and all hooked up!! We have an ice maker with crushed (YAY) and cubed iced and cold water. I love it. It’s side by side. I am so stressed. I am waiting now on the insurance guy to come and assess the damage to the wall, cupboard, and old fridge… our deductible is $250 so we may get some of the $$ back on the new fridge. I may not file the claim at all.Â I called a few moving servicesÂ this morning to take care of the old one to the appropriate disposal. So that will be gone tonight. The insurance man is on his way.

Will there ever be a light at the end of my tunnel?? Man oh man!!
