2007 - A Year to Remember? Or Forget?

December 29th, 2007 by BlogRmom

To be honest much of the year has been a blur really. It’s gone by so fast and it’s all really just the same day. But there are a few things about the year that stick out… a few Memories I’d like to keep… a few I’d like to forget… Here we go…

Memories I’ll Keep:
Watching my daughter head to first grade
Watching my son learn all kinds of new things
Watching my nephews turn 1
Getting my Nikon!!
My hubby’s work promotionS!

Memories I’ll like to Forget:
Losing a friend because a “cell phone” was percieved to be a gun and he was shot & killed by the police.
Digital & Online Drama
All my bad Health news

I am however THANKFUL for many things this year… my wonderful friends both online and offline, my wonderful family, my wonderful hubby, my children (even when they are not behaved), my furbaby, my house, my car, my new computer, and all the little things that make life pleasurable!!

It wasn’t a horrible year, but it certainly is going out with a much bigger depression then I had ever hoped. The fighter in me is losing her way in all of this. It’s hard to believe and to imagine what a “normal” life is like anymore…

Protected: Blue Christmas

December 25th, 2007 by BlogRmom

It certainly has been a Christmas to remember here… *sigh* The first Christmas my hubby has worked. So he’s worked 6pm-6am and was home this morning to see the kids open presents, but then slept most of the day to go back tonight. It’s been hard. In the 9 years we’ve been together, this is my first Christmas “without” him… so I am down…

On top of the other things… of not having a shoppe open to sell my designs in, which means there will be no paycheck in a week that I depend on… the drama in the digital community…

It’s certainly been a Blue Christmas… and one I won’t forget…

I struggle with holidays, I have for some time, since I lost a huge piece of my life almost 4 years ago when my uncle passed. This certainly doesn’t make things easier. I hope my fellow friends had a much brighter Christmas… I’m just blue…

It just keeps spinning!!

Well it’s Wednesday already and things are still busy busy here. I suspect things really will be like that until after the holidays!! It’s all part of the process. I can’t wait to get the shopping FINISHED this weekend!! It will be a relief to have that done. I need a new winter coat so I am going to be on the hunt for one of them too. I hate shopping so I try to “group” it all together. Knock it all out at one time.

Last night was a nightmare here!! Honestly I used to joke about my son never sleeping through the night, but truely it’s not a joke!! When he goes in for his 4 year old check in February they are going to have to run some sleep tests or something because this child is the ANTI-SLEEP!!! He’s up several times a night. He’s not napped in YEARS… I am exhausted. He’s nothing like my daughter was and nothing seems to work as far as the “sleep” tricks. He doesn’t want to stay in his own bed, he doesn’t want to sleep PERIOD! It’s SOOOO hard. I need to get some sleep with all the medications that I am on.

On another note, we’ve been discussing Car Angel at our school and church. It’s a great way to get resources for the kids. They take car donations and turn them into videos for kids and teens. It’s a great company. There are other companies that do similar things to fund schools and things and I think it’s amazing!!

Okay bloggers… have a great Wednesday… we are off to have dinner here!!

Holy Crud!! It’s Thursday!!

Seriously, I feel like the week JUST started!! I guess that is one of those things that comes with parenting. This time of the year is so incrediably BUSY for us with all the holiday events. Our daughter attends a Catholic school and we do practice and follow the Catholic religion, therefor most of you know that this time of year, along with Easter and Lent, are the most demanding times for us. Of course the festivities are nothing shy of fun, but it’s alot to pack into a small time slot.

Last night St Nick dropped in for a visit and filled the kids stockings. I was actually on top of things this year and managed to get this “tradition” done BEFORE I feel asleep!! So of course we had happy tykes when they woke this morning!! Despite the fact that they were told they would get spanking sticks and coal… they managed to come out with some pretty cool goodies, not quite as cool as the Cartier watch that hubby got *wink* but pretty cool. Alex got a movie which has been in on repeat all morning, and I want to puke from watching Thomas the Train, but none the less. He got some cars, a little candy and some small trains… Mariah got some My Little Pony toys, The Littlest Pet Shop toys and some candy… all in all it was a good deal for both of them!! I am sure Mariah is anxious to get home from school so she can play!!

Yesterday was just a busy day here. I finished the Christmas kit that I wanted to get made. It will be in the stores soon. I was pleased with the way it turned out and my Creative team was totally in love with it, so that made me feel all warm and fuzzy!! I’m glad they enjoyed it. I’ve got several more things on the drawing board. I had planned to create some more today, but in reality I have got to get some scrapping done. I am having that “withdraw” again and I really want to get some done. It snowed here so I got some pictures of the kids playing in the snow and making some snow angels, even though they are not that great, lol, I want to scrap them with the new Jingle Bell Blues kit from Funky Playground Designs. I fell in love with the blues in it and had to buy it!! I am sure the pictures will be just perfect with this kit!!

I also got a very cool new kit that is a PRE-RELEASE!! My favorite gal Blythe Evans has teamed up with her friend, another awesome digi designer, Micheline Martin to bring us a FAB new kit!! It will hit the stores Saturday. It’s a MUST HAVE!! That is all I am going to say about that!!!

Okay bloggers, I am off to beat the snowtime blues here and scrap some… I’ve gotta work the “Mrs Claus Cookie Shop” at school tomorrow afternoon. That should be very fun!! I get to set up and help them get things prepared… it’s always so exciting to see what the kids come up with for decorations!!
